Leslie and the Lys

There is some great visual stuff here. She is more interesting than her references to willow.

"yeah i remember seeing her on myspace years ago. i wasn't convinced then either. i do share an interest and humor associated with shiny gems and also the gender neutrality of skin-tight body suits on average looking people, but everything else here visually is on adult swim already, aside from the pandering 'dyke-feminism' or whatever; which would be welcomed if i believed it to be true. it is not, and stikes me more like an illustrator drawing on a gameboy to benefit from the 8-bit video game art vogue."

-rachel responds:

Wow, your response is more fresh than the video itself, and you are right about the aesthetics being played out on adult swim. When i say that she is more interesting than her references, i mean that she is a victim of her pseudo-hipster pandering. She has the potential to make a more interesting personal statement if she can get past that whole "dancing is so natural to me because all i do is get drunk with my thousands of friends" thing. That being said, i think there is some dynamic visual layering, especially in the sliding screen transitions. Watching this reminds me that i can do it myself, minus the obnoxious content.

What i appreciate is the technical aspect of the layered animation/live-action flow

-jeremy says:

"if you made it, rachel, it would be a completely different story. (probably)"
