sigmar polke

polke fails alot, and i like that. the early stuff from the 60's were ripoffs of max ernst collage and at least funny or playful.

whether or not polke is a rip off artist, i can't deny that i see a sort of spiritual successor to ernst and just a much more adventurous and better painter.

this is some of the latest work from 2008 'lens painting' series.

in many ways polke exploits for success that sort of finished, well crafted art world thing (that i hate). but it's alright because we are being fed vitamins.
