The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art -- link
the extreme opposite of "intuit art" would be designing the shit out of something
so that the actual process of creation would be an elaborate ritual, unimportant.
every facet of said creation would be based on the prevailing common
expectations of the day as if market tested to death, and in the end would
probably trumpet basic conservative values.
at what point does something like the following work by kumi yamashita,
which would not be considered "intuit art", stop being poetic?
the answer is never.
those are made out of metal and not paper. just btw.
there is definitely something exciting about this piece however! of course! specifically,
the way information is stored on the contours of the material. if read this way, the
faces explain the original idea. paper-->cast shadows-->make face.
the piece itself is simple follow through. we are not seeing an idea happen.
if that is something you are interested in.
